Fire TV Setup

Step 1 — Ready Your Device

Make sure your Fire device is signed in and on the Home screen. If not, stop here and consult the manual.

If you’re not signed in, go to Settings → Account and sign in. Return here when you see the Fire TV Home screen.

Step 2 — Install Downloader

Hold the mic/Alexa button and say “Downloader”. Install it.

Tip: If voice search fails, use Search and type “Downloader”.

Install the orange app with a down-arrow icon.

Step 3 — Adjust your settings

Follow these steps:

  1. Home → Settings
  2. My Fire TV (or Device & Software)
  3. About
  4. Click your device name 7 times
  5. Back → Developer Options
  6. Install Unknown Apps → turn Downloader ON
Older devices wording is different

Some older Fire OS versions say “Apps from Unknown Sources”. The goal is the same: allow Downloader to install apps.

Step 4 — Download Ark App Store

Open Downloader again. Enter your code/link and press Go. Install the app store when prompted.

Important: If you typed the wrong code, just press Back and try again.

If “Install” is blocked, go back to Step 3 and confirm “Unknown Apps” is enabled for Downloader.

Step 5 — Install your apps

Open the Ark App Store, enter the store code ark, and install apps in this order:

  1. WLP
  2. ViceDirect
  3. Vice TV 2.0 (then press OPEN)
Tip for smoother installs

After each install, press DONE (not Open) until the final app, then Open Vice TV 2.0.

Step 6 — You did it 🎉
